About a week ago, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce was not looking forward to his team’s season-opening game after the announcement that it was going to be played in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
“I’ll be there, not to do a podcast. I’ll be playing football in the (expletive) heat,” Kelce said in an earlier episode of his New Heights podcast.
The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Chargers in their Week 1 matchup south of the equator on Sept. 5. The Brazil temperatures are expected to be in the 80s, but the humidity, Kelce claims, will make for a “miserable” environment.
Playing in Kansas City his entire career, he has clearly grown to favor colder playing climates than hot ones.
“I will say this, if it’s humid, I’m gonna be miserable,” Kelce said. “… If it’s hot and humid, and it’s kind a what I’m expecting, I’m going to be miserable but we’re going to find a way to get a win.”
