Heat news: Bam Adebayo snubbed, Miami works out draft prospects

Cleveland Cavaliers v Miami Heat - Game Three

Catching up on some Miami Heat news to end the week…

Bam Adebayo left off the NBA’s All-Defensive team: Adebayo was not named to an All-Defensive team after having made it in each of the past six seasons. Evan Mobley, Draymond Green, Amen Thompson, Lu Dort and Dyson Daniels made up the first team, while Ivica Zubac, Jalen Williams, Toumani Camara, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Rudy Gobert made the second team.

Draft workouts: According to the Miami Herald, the Heat traveled to California this week to work out a trio of draft prospects represented by Klutch: St. Joseph forward Rasheer Fleming, Illinois forward Will Riley and Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. Check out our Benjamin Henderson’s scouting report on Clayton.

Creative way to get in on Giannis: Trading out of the first round in 2025 can put Miami in the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. If the Heat trade the 20th pick in June’s draft for a future pick in 2027, it could open up the ability to trade up to four first-round picks this summer. Here’s more.

What’s next for Kyle Anderson? The South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Ira Winderman takes a look at Kyle Anderson’s role with the Heat going forward. He’s an experienced role player under contract for two more seasons.
