Caitlin Clark makes her feelings known on LeBron James following the Lakers’ star’s Instagram post for her.
Caitlin Clark has taken the Indiana Fever to a whole new level. And the attention that followed her from her illustrious college career has now made her one of the (if not the) most popular players in the WNBA.
LeBron James, the Lakers’ superstar, hours before her game against the Sky, where she scored a triple-double, posted a picture with Clark, and also sent her best wishes on X (formerly known as Twitter) after the game.
The pictures in this post are from the Lakers vs Pacers game in March, where James tipped in the game-winner in the final second to give the Lakers the win. Following this post, reporters asked Caitlin Clark what she felt about James and getting the chance to meet him.
She said, “I don’t really get starstruck…I knew I was gonna meet him when I was coming to the game, and that’s one of my idols. LeBron is the GOAT to me, so it was just a crazy moment where I got to meet him in the back. And for him to go out of his way and wish me luck on the season. He really does follow the WNBA, and he watches and he loves and appreciates basketball, and he loves and appreciates the way the Fever and my teammates play. It’s just really cool.”
She further added, “I saw that [post], I didn’t see it before the game, but obviously, a lot of people had sent it to me after the game, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ Like I thought it was kind of fake at first. You never know in today’s world, I guess! … I was like, ‘Wait, is this actually LeBron James?’ I knew the picture was real, ’cause I knew that was me, but that was pretty incredible. I don’t get too starstruck, but he’s one of those people that I did.”
Another Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark Battle Goes Sour: How Did The Fever Star Perform?
A matchup between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark is almost always full of drama and controversy. In an incident during the game, Reese shoved a Fever player to gather a rebound. When Clark’s calls for a foul were ignored by the officials, she took matters into her own hands and shoved Reese to the floor in a physical but acceptable attempt to get the ball.
But not to Reese, who got flared up at Clark and had to be separated by her teammates to avoid a physical altercation. Following this incident, Reese allegedly faced racial slurs from Clark’s fans that led to an investigation launched into the matter by the WNBA. The Fever star finished the game with a 20-point triple-double in the dramatic season opener against the Sky.
