Spurs star who is one of the worse transfer in Spurs history is set to miss out on Europa league and never to play for Tottenham again

Tottenham Hotspur are currently contending with a lengthy list of injuries that have plagued their season, and it appears that one of their sidelined players may have already played his final match in a Spurs shirt.

Throughout the campaign, Ange Postecoglou’s squad has been hit hard by injuries, severely affecting team performance and squad depth.

While some critics argue that blaming injuries can often mask tactical shortcomings, there’s no denying that Tottenham’s options have been stretched thin, especially in the attacking department.

The team’s struggles have been most apparent in the forward line, where key players like Son Heung-min and Richarlison have only just returned from their respective injury layoffs. With multiple absentees and a squad depth thinner than desired, Spurs have often been forced to improvise.

The club’s current situation resembles a symphony of setbacks—long and drawn-out like Beethoven’s Ninth. As the season draws to a close, it’s evident that serious changes will be needed over the summer to avoid a repeat.

Timo Werner’s Time at Tottenham Appears to Be Over
Among the list of injured players is Timo Werner, who joined Tottenham on loan from RB Leipzig in January. Unfortunately, Werner’s stint in North London has failed to make the desired impact. With just 946 minutes played across all competitions, the 29-year-old forward has once again struggled to find consistency or end product.

Tottenham are currently also without Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, and young forward Dane Scarlett, who recently underwent surgery. Werner, sidelined with a hamstring injury, has almost become an afterthought, with little indication that he’ll return to action before the season ends.

Manager Ange Postecoglou recently confirmed that Werner remains unavailable due to his injury, and with time running out, speculation is growing that the German international may have already made his final appearance for the club.

In a recent interview with Tottenham News, Spurs insider and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham shared his view on Werner’s future — or lack thereof — at Tottenham.

“I don’t see Werner featuring again this season,” Wenham stated. “He isn’t even registered for the Europa League final, and I can’t imagine he’ll be involved in the last Premier League match against Brighton. It looks like his time here is done. If I had to guess, I’d say he’s already mentally checked out and packing his bags.”
Time to Move On: Tottenham Should Avoid Another Werner Gamble
The idea of extending Werner’s loan deal into next season has been met with widespread skepticism — and rightly so. There’s an old saying: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” In many ways, that sentiment sums up Werner’s second chance at Premier League football.

His stint at Chelsea was already marked by inconsistency and a lack of clinical finishing. Tottenham hoped that a change of scenery might bring about a revival, but that simply hasn’t materialized. Even when fit, Werner has struggled to impose himself, managing only four goal contributions in 21 appearances.

For a team aiming to return to the UEFA Champions League and compete at the highest level, relying on a forward with fitness concerns and limited impact is a risk that simply isn’t worth repeating. With his best years seemingly behind him and no standout moments to justify his continued presence, Spurs would be better served investing in a more dependable and dynamic attacker during the summer window.

Ultimately, Timo Werner’s brief Tottenham tenure is likely to be remembered as another misfire in the club’s quest to strengthen their forward line. With major decisions looming ahead, Spurs must now learn from this experience and move on decisively.
