Want to spend a Sunday with Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes and your buddies while throwing footballs, hitting golf balls, drinking beer and eating barbecue?
That sounds like a dream day for any sports fan — but one that probably costs thousands and thousands of dollars at an auction.
Actually, it is free to book via Airbnb.
That’s because Airbnb, a website in which residents offer up their homes for guests as an alternative to hotels, is trying to promote its reimagined Airbnb Experiences. Offered in 650 cities around the world, those experiences can range from learning how to make ramen from an expert chef in Tokyo to riding in the Andes with an anthropologist.
“This is about introducing Airbnb Experiences to as many people as possible,” Liz DeBold Fusco, Airbnb product and launch communications director and part of the team who created the concept, exclusively shared.
Requests to book the Mahomes hangout via the Airbnb app run through May 19, and four guests (and their plus-ones), who must be 21 or over, will be selected to join Mahomes on Sunday, June 1 in Kansas City, Mo.
As part of the booking process, the app asks: “Why do you want spend a Sunday Funday with Patrick Mahomes?”
After randomly choosing a set of potential guests, Airbnb will review their answers to that question, looking in particular for a unique perspective and a personal connection to the Mahomes experience.
The selected guests then will be notified by May 26.
Guests will get to hang out with Patrick Mahomes for a day as part of an Airbnb promotion.

Upon the guests’ arrival for the four-hour event, they will be welcomed by NFL Media’s Kimmi Chex, a Kansas City native.
Then they will play beer pong, chip golf balls into floating rings on a pond, dribble a soccer ball through cones and throw 10 footballs through multiple hoops. The winning team will receive a trophy, and all participants/guests will then enjoy a spread from Jack Stack BBQ.
Mahomes will be on hand as the guests participate in the games, receive closing trophy ceremony hardware and dine on the barbecue.
“We were really excited to be able to work with Patrick Mahomes to be able to create this super unique experience,” Fusco said, “that’s really built around his own passions.”
The Sunday event will not take place at one of Mahomes’ actual homes.
Airbnb declined to reveal the exact location, but according to the pin on the posting, it will be near the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. It, however, was revealed that the three-floor, A-frame cabin has a spacious backyard, barbecue area, fire pit and overlooks a private pond.
“We wanted to find a home that would be able to really host the variety of activities he wanted to create,” Fusco said.
After playing myriad games, guests will dine on Jack Stack BBQ as part of their hangout with Patrick … More Mahomes.

Though not a spokesman for Airbnb, Mahomes is among the first celebrities to participate. Megan Thee Stallion and SEVENTEEN, a K-pop group, also launched their Airbnb Experiences on May 13.
The three-time Super Bowl MVP is an obvious choice to help promote this Airbnb initiative.
The face of the NFL, Mahomes is a popular product endorser of brands, including Adidas, Coors Light, State Farm, Subway, T-Mobile, Oakley, BioSteel, BOSS, CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Essentia Water, Head & Shoulders, Hy-Vee, Hyperice, T-Mobile, Whoop, AirShare and Throne SPORT COFFEE.
“I’ve partnered with people I believe in,” Mahomes said.
