Taylor Swift’s net worth has increased since President Donald Trump said he “hated” her last year.

The post, providing no elaboration, is the latest in a series of critical remarks Trump has made about the pop star since she became more politically active and supported Democrats during the 2020s.

“Swift is the first musician to make the billionaire ranking primarily based on her songs and performances,” Forbes notes. Since Trump’s comments saying he hates her, Swift’s net worth has increased by $300 million.
In September 2024, following Swift’s endorsement of then-Vice President Kamala Harris for commander-in-chief, then-candidate Trump took to Truth Social to exclaim in an all-caps post: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” He said in a subsequent interview with Fox & Friends that “I was not a Taylor Swift fan” and that by endorsing Harris, “she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Swift’s seen a bigger jump in her net worth in the time period after Trump’s comments than the period preceding them.
In the eight months before Trump said he hates her, Swift’s net worth increased by $200 million, about $100 million less than in the eight months since Trump’s comment.
Forbes says that Swift’s fortune includes roughly $600 million from royalties and touring, notably after the Eras Tour was known for extremely high demand that led to congressional oversight over Ticketmaster due to exorbitant ticket costs and fans not being able to access flooded servers. Swift’s music catalog is currently worth an estimated $600 million, while real estate amounts to roughly $125 million.
Her catalog’s worth also ballooned, from $500 million in January 2024 to the current number by last fall. In 2021, Swift started re-releasing records from her first six albums to reclaim ownership rights.
After Trump made his comment on Truth Social in September, his daughter, Ivanka and granddaughter, Arabella, attended Swift’s concert in Miami.
Earlier that year, Ivanka posted a photo on Instagram from her daughter’s birthday where she called her daughter a “Swiftie” and revealed a cake that had a lyric from one of the singer’s hit songs, “Blank Space.”
