President Donald Trump has fired off a new broadside on social media ridiculing megastar Taylor Swift.
The president mused on Truth Social Friday how the billionaire singer is ‘no longer hot.’
The 78-year-old Republican wrote that Swift has seemingly lost popularity – and that he may be the reason for her alleged downfall.
Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I hate Taylor Swift,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?” the president wrote.
It’s unclear what prompted the message sent by the president while he travels back to the U.S. from a trip to the Middle East.
The president has taken shots at the singer over the years, particularly after she endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
In the 2024 election, Swift endorsed Trump’s rival yet again, announcing her support for Kamala Harris right after the September presidential debate.
‘I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,’ she wrote.
‘I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,’ Swift wrote. ‘I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.’
She signed her post ‘childless cat lady,’ a barb meant for Vice President JD Vance, who at the time was in hot water for insulting single women with cats.
Trump posted ‘I hate Taylor Swift’ on Truth Social in response to the pop-star’s endorsement.
Karoline Leavitt at the time accused Swift of not understanding average Americans at the time, calling her an ‘elite’ that does not understand the struggle of ‘everyday’ workers.
‘It’s further evidence that the Democrat Party, unfortunately, is the party of the wealthy elite,’ Leavitt said of Swift’s endorsement.
‘Taylor Swift may make great music, but she does not understand the struggles of everyday, hardworking families, and President Trump is speaking on behalf of those hardworking, struggling families who don’t get the privilege, like Taylor Swift, of living in a gated community.’
Swift is the wealthiest female singer in the world, according to Forbes, with a net worth estimated around a staggering $1.6 billion.
Swift also said in a 2019 interview with The Guardian that she supported Hilary Clinton over Trump in the 2016 election.
Swift also accused Trump of treating the presidency like ‘an autocracy.’
In 2020, at the peak of the nationwide protests prompted by the death of George Floyd, Swift posted how Trump spent his presidency stoking racism and white supremacy.
‘After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November,’ Swift wrote in May 2020.
