Dodgers Prospect Acquired in Gavin Lux Trade Already Promoted After Dominant Start

What will the Dodgers do with Gavin Lux once he returns from the IL? - True Blue LA

The Los Angeles Dodgers surprisingly moved on from longtime infielder and former top prospect Gavin Lux this offseason.

After a red-hot second half of the season for the eventual World Series champions, the Dodgers decided to start fresh, sending Lux to the Cincinnati Reds for a prospect and a draft pick.

While Lux has thrived at the MLB level since the trade, hitting .282 with one home run, 18 runs batted in and an OPS of .767, the prospect the Dodgers acquired for him has thrived at the minor league level — and on Tuesday, officially got one step closer to the major leagues.

Outfielder Mike Sirota, who turns 22 in June, got the promotion from Single-A to High-A after a red-hot start to the 2025 campaign at Rancho Cucamonga.

In 24 games, Sirota slashed .354/.444/.687 with seven home runs, 24 RBIs, 17 extra-base hits and an OPS of 1.130. He was proving to be too good for Single-A, so he’s now joined High-A Great Lakes.

Sirota wasted no time in his debut for the Great Lakes Loons, as he batted leadoff, and went 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

While Sirota is still a few years away from making his MLB debut, he appears to be yet another great hitting prospect who will come through the Dodgers system.
