The pop icon scooped the most awards during the ceremony at Manchester’s Co-Op Live
Taylor Swift sent a video message to her beloved Swifties during the MTV EMAs 2024. The American singer-songwriter appeared on the big screen after winning four awards in tonight’s ceremony (November 10) – including Best Artist, Best Video, Best Live and Best US Act.
The spectacular music awards took place at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena for the first time, hosted by pop star Rita Ora for the third time. An array of celebrities and music stars walked the red carpet as guests of the esteemed show.
The MTV ceremony featured huge performances from Raye, Pet Shop Boys, Le Sserafim, Shawn Mendes and Benson Boone, as well as a touching tribute given by Rita Ora to former One Direction member Liam Payne after he sadly passed away in October.
This year’s winners were led by Taylor Swift, who scooped four awards including Best Video for Taylor Swift ft. Post Malone with Fortnight.
Although she couldn’t be in attendance at the star-studded ceremony in Manchester due to her Eras Tour, the pop icon sent a heartfelt message to her dedicated fans.
Appearing on screen as the crowd screamed, the 34-year-old said: “Hey guys it’s Taylor. I am coming to you from the Eras Tour. I’m so sad that I can’t be with you tonight but thank you so much for these amazing awards.
“The fact that you have honoured the tour, everything that has happened with the album this year, the video, it’s just unbelievable. I have to say thank you so much to Post Malone for being the most amazing co-star possible in the Fortnight music video.”
Taylor then continued: “Thank you to the fans for voting on this. You’re the reason any great thing happens to me and I know it every single day. I’m so thankful for it and this is just so exciting and so wonderful.
The winner concluded: “I had the best time touring in Europe this summer so it is just wonderful for you to do this.”
