Julian Edelman, Patrick Mahomes show love to Celtics star Jayson Tatum after devastating lower leg injury

Có thể là hình ảnh về 7 người, mọi người đang chơi bóng rổ, đám đông và văn bảnWhen Jayson Tatum went down in the fourth quarter of Monday’s playoff game between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks, fans everywhere flocked to social media to express their thoughts and concerns over the team’s star.

Tatum went down on a non-contact injury after trying to pursue a loose ball. He immediately fell to the ground and started grabbing at the lower part of his right leg. Tatum then had to be helped off the court after a strong 42-point performance in the Celtics’ loss.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted a video of the play in which Tatum got hurt, and New England Patriots legend Julian Edelman responded with a simple, but perfect message for the starting forward.

“This is rough. Thinking abut ya @jaytatum0 🙏,” Edelman wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also posted.

“Prayers up man….. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼,” he wrote.

The cameras then showed Tatum in the tunnel after the injury, getting pushed in a wheelchair. He was clearly very emotional.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters that he had no update on Tatum after the game and added that the plan is for him to have an MRI on Tuesday. However, many fear that Tatum torn his right Achilles tendon.

“It was a lower body injury, gonna get an MRI tomorrow. He’s with the doctors now,” Mazzulla told reporters after the game. “We’ll see where it goes from there.”

Edelman and Mahomes weren’t not the only one who showed support for Tatum following the injury that could potentially sideline him for all of next season.

LeBron James: “🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Big Deuce”

Isaiah Thomas: “🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Tatum”

Ben Stiller: “Sending all good thoughts and positive vibes to the great @jaytatum0 🙏🙏🙏”
