The Miami Heat have long been rumored as a potential landing spot for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, and a recent episode of the “Locked on Heat” podcast has shed light on what it might take to pry the two-time MVP away from Milwaukee.
According to the podcast, the Heat would face steep competition from teams like the Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, and Oklahoma City Thunder, all of whom are reportedly in the mix for the Greek Freak.
The hosts, Wes Goldberg and David Ramil, emphasized that Miami “can’t beat the best offers” from these teams, suggesting the Heat would need to get creative to make a trade work.
The podcast outlined a potential package that could tempt the Bucks and their front office.
“The centerpiece of the package would be Wiggins, Herro, Ware, and three firsts,” Goldberg asserted without hesitation.
Moreover, if Bam Adebayo were to be the centerpiece of the trade package, complexion would arise for the Heat’s front office.
To match the Bucks’ expectations and make the financials work, the Heat would also need to include either Terry Rozier or Duncan Robinson, alongside Adebayo.
“You would have to include either the Wiggins, Rozier, or Duncan salary, plus Bam, just to make the money work,” Goldberg stated.
This steep price reflects Antetokounmpo’s status as a generational talent, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in the 2024-2025 season, while leading the Bucks to a 48-34 record last year.
In spite of the steep price, pairing Antetokounmpo with either Herro or Adebayo could create a championship-caliber duo capable of dominating the Eastern Conference.
As trade rumors swirl, Heat fans are left wondering if Pat Riley can pull off another blockbuster move to bring the Antetokounmpo era to South Beach.
