Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is headed to the Hall of Fame.

The eighth year NFL player has been inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. According to Equity Sports, Mahomes earned his spot in the prestigious record after completing over 8,000 passing yards and 90 touchdowns during his time at Whitehouse High School.

The Chiefs quarterback was also joined by former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III, who was also inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in the class of 2025.

After competing at Whitehouse High School, Mahomes made the move to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Texas native originally committed to Texas Tech as a three-star prospect, ranked as the No. 22 pro-style quarterback and the No. 389 overall player in the nation, per 247Sports Composite.

During Mahomes’ college recruiting days, the class of 2014 quarterback received offers from the following programs: Rice, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

He also received interest from programs like Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and Baylor, but Mahomes was never offered by those powerhouses.

Last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, Mahomes posted 26 touchdowns and 3,928 yards, completing 67.5% of his pass attempts.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 17-3 record, defeating the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills in the postseason.

Now, it’s time for Mahomes to continue his legacy in the NFL, having already established himself as a Texas football legend.
