Dodgers Notes: Shohei Ohtani Heroics, Max Muncy Talks Trade Rumors, Roki Sasaki Velo Drop

The Los Angeles Dodgers blew a five-run lead, entered the ninth inning down three runs, and still managed to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 14-11, in one of the wildest games of the year.

The team came together in a major way by chipping at Arizona’s relievers until a three-run blast by the incomparable Shohei Ohtani propelled the Dodgers to 26-13 on the season.

Before he hit a game-tying RBI single, Max Muncy opened up on trade rumors surrounding himself and Nolan Arenado. Although he showed no shortage of his clutch gene on Friday, his batting average and home run total has been uncharacteristically low to start 2025.

Additionally, Roki Sasaki spoke before the season began about the issue he had with his fastball velocity dipping. It was the ‘unspecified homework assignment’ he gave teams before ultimately picking the Dodgers, but pitching coach Mark Prior recently revealed why the team has chosen for Sasaki to decrease his velocity.
