While no contract extension has been finalized yet, Riley made it clear that Herro remains a key part of the team’s core moving forward.

“We’ve already talked about it. I’ve talked about it with Tyler,” Riley said to the Miami Herald when asked about a potential extension.

“Definitely, Tyler is deserving of the thought of an extension. But are we going to do it? We haven’t committed to it. But we’re going to discuss it. I’ve already talked to him about it. He’s cool (with whatever happens),” he added.

Herro holds career averages of 19.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists over 361 regular-season games with the Heat and was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2022.
