Chiefs release recent free agent addition to sign a standout Division II UDFA rookie minicamp tryout who defied the odds

The Kansas City Chiefs have made a pair of roster moves following the conclusion of their rookie minicamp on Monday.

As Chiefs Digest’s Matt Derrick first reported, Kansas City released CB Robert Rochell from the 90-man offseason roster. A fourth-round pick out of Central Arkansas in 2021, Rochell was a March 21 free agent signing for the Chiefs. He was expected to play a role on special teams, but it seems he was simply a placeholder for a player waiting to impress during his rookie minicamp tryout.
