UPDATE: ESPN’s take on the Chiefs’ ranking after the 2025 NFL Draft will have 31 other NFL fan bases seething about what’s to come

ESPN's take on the Chiefs' ranking after the 2025 NFL Draft will have 31 other NFL fan bases seething about what's to come

After getting beaten by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, many people think the Kansas City Chiefs’ dynasty will soon be over. But that’s just not the case.

If there is anything we know, it’s that the Chiefs get better after they lose big games. Think about when they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs went on to win two Super Bowls in a row. This is a franchise that knows how to bounce back, and we have seen that time and time again.

Will the dynasty end one day? Of course, all dynasties do end eventually. But the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down, and if you think they are, you’re not paying enough attention. Everything they have done since their Super Bowl loss in February has shown they are ready to get right back to the biggest game there is.

ESPN, in fact, has the Chiefs ranked as the No. 1 team in the league after the 2025 NFL Draft, ahead of the Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and everyone else.

The Chiefs are counting on the return of two top receivers who missed most of last season with injuries. Rashee Rice led the league with 24 catches through the first three games before a season-ending knee injury, while Hollywood Brown played in only two regular-season games because of a sternoclavicular injury. Rice and Brown will combine with Xavier Worthy to give the Chiefs a potent group of wideouts. With the selection of fourth-rounder Jalen Royals, Kansas City also added speed and run-after-the-catch ability on the outside. — Adam Teicher

There is a belief that the Chiefs have done enough in the areas they needed the most help in to reclaim that No. 1 spot.

They needed help on the offensive and defensive lines, and they have gotten that. They needed help in the cornerback room, and they got that. They needed help in the receiver room, and they got that.

Every move this team made made them better and fixed an issue that was there with the team. But that doesn’t guarantee anything.

In fact, it’s just a power ranking, which means absolutely nothing. However, when 31 other fan bases find out what all the Chiefs have done to make their team even better this offseason, they won’t be very happy.

And the players who are still on the team from last year, they’re all hungry and motivated even more.
