This One Reputation Taylor’s Version Track Has Me Convinced That It’s Her Best Re-Recorded Album Yet
A glimpse at a reputation (Taylor’s Version) track could be evidence that it’s Taylor Swift’s best re-recorded album yet. So far, Swift has released four re-recorded albums since announcing the project in 2019. Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 have all been re-released, all debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200.
Though reputation (Taylor’s Version) has yet to formally arrive, some pieces of the re-recorded album have come to light – all because of various movies and TV shows that have gotten permission from Swift to use her brand-new Taylor’s Versions in trailers, promotional materials, and full scenes. It’s one of these snippets that has proven the fact that reputation (Taylor’s Version) is gearing up to be her best re-recorded album yet.
“Delicate (Taylor’s Version)” Sounds The Same, But Even Better Somehow
Swift Recreated & Refreshed The Sound Of “Delicate”
Fans heard their very first snippet of “Delicate (Taylor’s Version)” in 2023 when it was featured in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2. The scene included characters Belly and Jeremiah jumping into the pool as the Taylor’s Version track played. Swift no longer lends out any of the music she doesn’t own, so the song’s appearance was proof that “Delicate” had been re-recorded.
While a lot of Swift’s re-recorded songs have received some backlash for not sounding exactly like the originals, “Delicate” is an outlier. The song sounds almost exactly like the original, with a few aspects that have been improved upon.
Since starting the re-recording process, Swift has not worked with producer Max Martin again, causing some of the music he previously produced to sound lackluster. While it’s unknown if Martin worked on the “Delicate” rerecording, the production is impressive. If it were a different producer working on “Delicate,” they did a great job mimicking Martin’s work, while also keeping it fresh.
There are musical elements that sound even clearer in the rerecorded version, similar to the rerecorded version of Fearless’ “The Way I Loved You.” Specifically, the synths in the background of the bridge in “Delicate” are emphasized. The new “Delicate” is a refreshed version, with even sharper production than the original recording had.
Taylor’s More Mature Voice Fits The Reputation Album So Well
Her Mature Vocals Will Improve The Album
Since reputation is such a dark album, Swift’s more mature vocals fit it perfectly. Some of her other Taylor’s Version albums were originally recorded when she was much younger, meaning she had to tap into her youthful and naive self to recreate the songs. This isn’t necessary for reputation, and, in fact, the more mature she sounds, the better. Swift’s more mature vocals bring “Delicate (Taylor’s Version)” to life.

Taylor Swift’s 2017 revenge album, Reputation, was inspired by a nasty 2016 feud with rapper Kanye West and his former wife, Kim Kardashian.
Swifties also got a brief listen to “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” when it appeared in the TV series Wilderness and The Dynasty: New England Patriots. Like “Delicate,” the re-recording proved how well Taylor Swift’s mature vocals fit the album, making the upcoming re-recording release even more exciting.
