The Boston Celtics finally quenched the second-longest title drought in the history of the storied ball club when they won Banner 18 against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals, but the statement alone does not come close to doing their journey to being champions justice.

Some may point to the relative lack of competition they faced in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, but the struggle to win it all dates all the way back to nearly the start of the team’s last rebuild, which saw Boston miss the postseason only once since their last era of contention — but miss or lose in the finals almost every year after that. The NBA and the Celtics put together a documentary to remember it all with.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about everything that went into winning Banner 18.
