Shocking!! Bills GM Loses His Mind Over Draft Pressure After Chiefs Masterclass

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a spectacular 2025 NFL Draft. Kansas City selected players who can step in and contribute this year if needed, as well as take players who can grow into roles when others depart.

That said, one of the Chiefs’ biggest rivals, the Buffalo Bills, are catching lots of flak for how they drafted from fans.

Buffalo focused on defense in the early rounds, only taking offensive players on day three.

Georgia Tech Tight end Jackson Hawes was selected in round five, followed by UConn tackle Chase Lundt in round six, and Maryland wide receiver Kaden Prather was the Bills’ final pick in round seven.

Their choice to wait on a wide receiver until Round 7 really upset fans. However, Bills general manager Brandon Beane does not have any of it. During an appearance on WGR 550 on Monday morning, Beane had some words for the angry fans.

According to Matt Parrino, Beane said, Sounds like 2018 all over. “You guys were bitching about Josh Allen. You wanted Josh Rosen & now you’re bitching that we don’t have a receiver.” He later added, “I don’t get it. You just saw us lead the league in points.”

Bills GM Brandon Beane Lashes Out at Fans Defending His Draft Strategy

On paper, the Bills’ 2025 draft strategy makes sense. Load up on defense to try and help slow down a Chiefs team that, no matter what, you end up having a high scoring game with in the playoffs. Last year’s AFC Championship ended 32-29 against a Chiefs offense that was inconsistent all season.

Still, neglecting wide receiver until the seventh round seems like a big mistake. Currently, Buffalo’s receiving corps consists of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and former Los Angeles Charger Joshua Palmer. While Coleman is only expected to improve in 2025, Shakir had a career season last year, and they’re hoping he can replicate it.

If he is unable to do so, an offense that led the league in points last year, like Beane points out, could take a huge step back in 2025. That outcome would make all of the Chiefs’ kingdom point at their rival and laugh.

Now, it’s time to wait and see whose draft strategy is correct, Beane’s or the Bills fans.
