Taylor Swift’s ex Joe Jonas left a cryptic response to lyrics from her track Mr. Perfectly Fine that is speculated to have been about their split which took place nearly 17 years ago.
The Jonas Brothers star, 35, previously dated the Grammy winner beginning in July 2008 but the two stars broke up only months later.
Joe uploaded a TikTok video earlier this week as he filmed himself strolling through the streets of London while sporting a gray suit.
One fan jumped to the comment section of the post to write, ‘so dignified in his well pressed suit,’ which are lyrics from Swift’s 2021 song. The tune is a Vault track on her Fearless (Taylor’s Version) album.
Jonas shared a simple response by penning, ‘Thanks for noticing’ – which left some wondering if the performer understood the reference or not.
Throughout the 15-second reel, the former Disney channel star walked along a street in the bustling city as a soundbite of a person discussing his social media presence played in the background.

Not long after Jonas offered a cryptic comment to Taylor’s lyrics, some social media users jumped to X to question whether he knew the reference.
One typed out, ‘I’d die if he actually knew the reference,’ and another shared, ‘He probably doesn’t even know that’s from Mr. perfectly fine.’
A fan included a screenshot of the TikTok comment and added, ‘JOE REPLYING TO A COMMENT WITH MY PERFECTLY FINE LYRICS IS SOOOOOO BAD FOR ME.’
‘HELP THE WAY HE THINKS IT’S A GOOD THING,’ one penned, and another wrote, ‘Do we think he gets the reference? He often forgets his OWN song lyrics LMAOOO.’
Some of the lyrics to Mr. Perfectly Fine include: ‘So dignified in your well-pressed suit/So strategized, all the eyes on you/Sashay away to your seat/It’s the best seat, in the best room.
‘Oh, he’s so smug, Mr. “Always wins”/So far above me in every sense/So far above feeling anything.’
The Camp Rock actor previously dated Swift in 2008 which only lasted for around four months.
Another Swift song that is rumored to be about their brief fling is Forever & Always – which is found on her album Fearless (2008).

In 2009, fans believed that his song Much Better was also based off of his relationship with Taylor.
Shortly after the split, Taylor opened up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and revealed that Joe had broken up with her over a 25-second phone call.
‘Some day, I’m gonna find somebody really, really, really great, who’s right for me,’ the singer stated.
‘When I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful and when I look at that person, I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18,’ she added.
According to People, Joe later took to his own Myspace page to address the phone call that Swift had mentioned.

However, as the years passed, the two appeared to be on good terms. In 2019, Taylor notably apologized to the actor for putting him ‘on blast’ during her Ellen DeGeneres interview.

Jonas is preparing to drop his second studio album Music For People Who Believe In Love – which is set to be released next month on May 23.

Earlier this week, Joe performed his third single from the 13-track LP called Heart By Heart for the first time at New York City’s Bleecker Street Bar on Thursday.
The event was a phone-free, intimate concert and the star told People, ‘It’s been a while – actually, the last time I performed with no phones, I honestly couldn’t tell you.’
Both fans and close pals of the music artist stopped by the Off Socials performance and Jonas had filmed a music video for the song Heart By Heart earlier in the day as well.

Music For People Who Believe In Love had originally been slated to release last year in October 2024 – but was postponed to drop this year instead.
Jonas explained that he was ‘glad’ he made that decision and added, ‘This song I’m playing tonight, but also it’s releasing tonight, “Heart by Heart,” we wouldn’t have had if I didn’t hold onto [the album]. So I’m glad I waited.’
