The Golden State Warriors had a prime opportunity to take a commanding 2-0 series lead on Wednesday night as they faced off against the Houston Rockets in their first round series.
Golden State took Game 1 on Sunday in a hard-fought matchup behind incredible performances from their superstar duo of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, things would not go their way in Game 2 as they fell to the Rockets 109-94.
Of course, the Warriors had a disastrous start to the contest as Butler left the game and never returned after taking a hard fall late in the first quarter on a rebound attempt.
With Butler out and Brandin Podziemski also being limited due to an illness, the Warriors were never able to get into a rhythm to take town the Rockets.
While the Warriors did lose Wednesday’s matchup, their veteran forward Draymond Green made franchise history in the contest.
In Wednesday’s game, Green set the record for the most playoff games played in Warriors history with 159.

Of course, Green has also played the fifth-most playoff games among active NBA players as he trails only LeBron James, Al Horford, Kevin Durant and James Harden and he also has won 108 of those 159 games, which is tied for the most in franchise history with Klay Thompson.
This is a massive accomplishment for Green who has played a key role for the Warriors during his career with the team, especially during their dynasty.
It has been the same for Green this season as he finished Wednesday’s game with eight points, five rebounds, one assist and three steals in Golden State’s loss.
Green and the Warriors will now look to bounce back in Game 3 at home on Saturday as they try to regain control of the series.
