Stephen Curry, once again, put on a clinic on a basketball court Sunday night. In Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, Curry showed the world, that even at 37 years old, he is still a force to be reckon with come crunch time.
After faltering down the stretch of the regular season, Curry’s Golden State Warriors find themselves the lower seed (No. 7) in their series against the Houston Rockets (No. 2). Prior to Sunday’s game, the (betting) world knew this wasn’t a traditional two vs. seven matchup.
The Warriors, despite being the lower seed, without home-court advantage, were favored to win the series (minus-190) as per BETMGM.
With the Warriors taking down the Rockets 95-85 behind Curry’s 31 points, the Warriors have stolen home-court advantage.
As the game came to a close, Curry made his way across the Toyota Center floor, toward Houston Texans quarterback, C.J. Stroud. The two had a lengthy interaction that has fans turning their heads.

been making eye contact throughout the game, and Curry immediately headed for Stroud after the game.
The Texans star QB and Curry embraced and chatted for a minute.
Fans rushed to social media to post their thoughts on the meeting.
“They are both so loved and admired,” @MamabearK444 posted on X.
“Respect flows both ways – champions recognize champions before and after the battle,” @MayorDelMar said on X. “Leaders supporting leaders, greatness recognized!” @GraceOnX1 posted on X.
“That’s amazing,” @0xOlla said on X.
While the duo of Curry and Stroud caught everyone’s attention, it was the duo of Curry and Jimmy Butler that got the job done Sunday night.
Butler dropped 25 points on 10 of 19 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
While the Warriors offense put on a shooting clinic, it was their defense that stole the show. They held the Rockets to 85 points on just 39.1% shooting from the field. This is a Rockets team that averaged 114.3 points per game in the regular season.
The Warriors will look to solidify home-court advantage in this series in Game 2 on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. EDT.
