Richarlison Set for Tottenham Exit as Brazilian Eyes Summer Move Amid Interest from Saudi Arabia and Brazil
Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison could be on the move this summer, as growing reports suggest the Premier League club is open to selling the Brazilian international at the end of the season. The 26-year-old has endured a turbulent spell in North London since his high-profile transfer from Everton, failing to consistently live up to expectations while also struggling with persistent injuries.
According to a report from NossoPalmeiras, Tottenham have made the decision to listen to offers for Richarlison, potentially bringing an end to his underwhelming stint at the club. While his talent is unquestionable, his output has not matched the significant investment Spurs made, and both the player and club could now be ready for a fresh start.
A number of Brazilian powerhouses — including Palmeiras, Flamengo, and Fluminense — are said to be monitoring the situation closely. A return to his homeland could offer Richarlison a chance to reset his career in more familiar surroundings, but there’s also strong speculation that a move to the Saudi Pro League may be on the cards.
Reports indicate that the striker is actively seeking a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia to recover significant financial losses sustained due to a fallout with his former agent, Renato Velasco. Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has shed light on the situation, revealing that Richarlison lost a substantial sum — estimated at around 10 million reais — because of alleged financial mismanagement by Velasco, who reportedly had access to the player’s bank accounts. The dispute has escalated into a legal battle, with Velasco demanding 18 million reais in compensation.
“Richarlison understands that he needs to recover the money he lost,” Nicola stated. “According to a close friend, at least 10 million reais disappeared during his association with Renato Velasco. The conflict between them has become a court case, with Richarlison telling those close to him that Renato made the money vanish from his accounts.”
Despite the off-field distractions and recent struggles, Richarlison remains a player of immense potential. Still in his prime, he possesses the attributes to contribute to a top-level European side and challenge for major honors. A move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career might appear premature, particularly when he has the quality to compete at the highest level in Europe.
There is a sense that Richarlison’s next move could define his career trajectory. While the financial appeal of the Saudi Pro League is undeniable, he may yet opt to stay in Europe, where his competitive edge and versatility could make him a valuable asset to numerous top clubs.
Ultimately, his decision will come down to priorities — whether he chooses to chase silverware and reclaim his standing in elite football or take advantage of the financial rewards offered elsewhere. Either way, Richarlison’s future will be one of the most closely-watched storylines of the upcoming transfer window.
