BREAKING: Luka Doncic’s Strong Statement on Playing With LeBron James…

Luka Doncic sat down with Malika Andrews of ESPN for an interview on Friday, one day before the Los Angeles Lakers begin the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of this year’s postseason. Doncic and Co. have home-court advantage in the series since they are the No. 3 seed in the West.

The Dallas Mavericks stunned the sports world when they traded Doncic to the Lakers in February. The blockbuster deal paired Doncic with LeBron James, the leading scorer in NBA history.

During his converastion with Andrews, Doncic was asked to talk about what it has been like playing with James.

Doncic and James played in 23 games together during the regular season. The Lakers, who won 50 games under first-year head coach JJ Redick, went 15-8 when Doncic and James played and both All-Stars put up strong numbers.

Doncic averaged 27.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.3 assists with James, while James averaged 23.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists with Doncic.

Doncic finished the regular season averaging 28.2 points with the Mavericks and Lakers. Meanwhile, James averaged 24.4 points.

James is looking to win his fifth championship this year and his second ring with the Lakers. The future Hall of Famer won his last title in 2020.

Meanwhile, Doncic is still searching for his first Larry O’Brien Trophy. The 25-year-old reached the NBA Finals last year with the Mavericks, who lost to the Boston Celtics in five games.

Doncic has career postseason averages of 30.9 points. That’s good for second in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan.

James, who averages 28.4 points in the playoffs, is sixth all-time in postseason points per game.
