The 2025 NFL Draft is just six days away, which means that the Green Bay Packers have less than a week to figure out what they want to do. Whether they choose to stand pat with their current picks, move around in the draft, or trade current players for extra picks, they’ll need to move quickly.
Brian Gutekunst has never been scared to make trades around draft time. Fans always expect to see him make some kind of move at some point. Why would this year be any different?
Should the Packers decide to trade a current player for additional draft capital, there is one obvious name to watch.
Romeo Doubs is entering the final season of his contract in Green Bay. He has shown major potential, but has been unable to unlock all of it during his tenure with the team. If a team comes calling with an aggressive offer, could he end up being shipped out of town?
That is a question that many want to know the answer to. If the Packers are open to trading him, there are quite a few teams around the NFL who would likely have interest.
One of those teams could be the Kansas City Chiefs.
Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports has suggested the Chiefs as a potential trade suitor for Doubs. Assuming it would take a mid-round pick to pry him from Green Bay, Kansas City would be a prime trade partner.
During the 2024 NFL season with the Packers, Doubs played in 13 games. He caught 46 passes for 601 yards and four touchdowns. Back in 2023, he caught 59 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games.
At just 25 years old, moving on from Doubs would be a tough decision. But, if Green Bay isn’t going to pay to extend him, getting something of decent value would be a wise play.
