UNBELIEVABLE: Tyler Glasnow Reveals Why MLB Free Agents Want to Sign With Dodgers

One of the main storylines during the 2024-25 MLB offseason was fans’ frustration over free agents signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. With so many stars joining the Dodgers, there had to be a reason beyond just money.

One player who was traded to Los Angeles and chose to sign an extension upon his arrival prevealed why so many players chose the Dodgers in the offseason.

On “The Windup” from The Athletic with Jayson Stark and Doug Glanville, Dodgers All-Star pitcher Tyler Glasnow explained why free agents want to join the Dodgers. “It’s a good market that a lot of people want to go to,” Glasnow said.

“It’s a really good organization.” Glasnow further went on explaining what makes the Dodgers organization so appealing and great for free agents.

“As a pro, if you want to get better, with all the resources and all the things here to learn and grow, it’s just kind of a no-brainer.

It’s the best of everything and a lot of guys want to come and sign here.”

Having ample resources is key, and from Glasnow’s point of view, the Dodgers have the best and most resources available in baseball.

With the franchise’s success in recent years, it’s easy to see how those resources have positively impacted the club.

Aside from their World Series win, the Dodgers’ free agent moves have gained such attention because so many great players have decided to head to Los Angeles.

Roki Sasaki, Tanner Scott, Teoscar Hernandez (who chose to re-sign), Blake Snell, and Kirby Yates joined the Dodgers in the 2024-25 offseason.

Following a World Series victory with a star-studded free agent class has drawn the ire of fans across baseball. Glasnow acknowledges the frustration of those fans. “I can understand people watching it from the outside.

I can understand why people are like ‘[expletive] the Dodgers.’

” The Dodgers could only have such a strong free agent class because their ownership is willing to spend the money, and the organization is well-structured to develop these players.

It’s a massive investment for the Dodgers, and when a player is choosing between teams, picking the organization with better resources makes the most sense. Glasnow strongly believes that the Dodgers organization is the best choice for free agents.

“I think the best thing for free agents is, if you are looking to become the best possible player you can be, this is the organization for you.”

With Los Angeles’ track record, it’s hard to argue with Glasnow’s view of the Dodgers’ free agency lure. Joining an elite organization with a history of developing players into their best selves is hard to pass up, especially if the money is similar.

Opposing fan bases can be frustrated at free agents continually joining the Dodgers, but the players have many reasons to choose the Dodgers. Few teams are comparable to the Dodgers in terms of the quality of resources and organizational structure.
