Right-hander Bobby Miller was pulled from his start earlier this week after throwing just 55 pitches across 2.1 innings. When Roberts was asked about Miller’s early departure, he was very coy.

“Was he?” Roberts said to The Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett. “That’s interesting.”

With Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, Miller has a 2.25 ERA with 11 strikeouts and 1.42 WHIP across 12 innings pitched.

The right-hander was one of three starting pitchers competing for the final spot in the rotation this spring.

However, the Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A and he made his 2025 debut with the Comets.

Miller had an extremely productive first outing in the minors, retiring 12 of his final 14 batters. He allowed two hits, two walks, and no runs across 4.2 innings pitched.

The 25-year-old faced much adversity throughout the 2024 campaign.

While he was coming off a remarkable rookie season, Miller struggled mightily in his sophomore year, logging a 9.34 ERA in 10 starts after his return from the injured list.

If the Dodgers do call up Miller, then it provides the right-hander with an opportunity to prove himself.
