Travis and Taylor have ‘learned’ the spotlight is ‘not the best’ for their relationship

Speaking to Us Magazine, insiders opened up about Swift and Kelce’s time out of the spotlight since Super Bowl LIX in February 2025.

The pair have only been spotted a few times, usually ducking into an awaiting car outside a restaurant.

The reason, a source told the outlet, is that too much “attention” is not good for them as a couple. “Taylor and Travis have learned that so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing,” the insider said.

All eyes have arguably been on the pair a lot in recent months and years. Rarely did a week go by without seeing Swift cheering on Kelce at a Kansas City Chiefs game.

Then there was all of the exposure from her wrapping up the Eras Tour in late 2024. And the viral moments from the Super Bowl.

Plus, Kelce’s star power has taken him from football to acting (Grotesquerie and the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel) to game show host.

Swift and Kelce are taking a step back from all the ‘attention’

After football games, tour stops, and more, Kelce and Swift are taking time out of the spotlight. According to sources, they both have different reasons for wanting to do so.

For Kelce, it’s about upping his game on the field after the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Travis wants to take [a breather] from the public eye,” another source said. “He was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted. He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”

For Swift, it’s partly about steering clear of Blake Lively’s legal drama with Justin Baldoni.

“All the stuff going on with Blake is another reason Taylor and Travis want to keep to themselves,” another source said. “The last thing Taylor wants is to be dragged into a controversy when she’s trying to destress.”

Unwinding for the pair has included hosting friends, visiting with their families, and taking some trips together.

“Taylor and Travis have been between Kansas, Nashville, Rhode Island, and New York,” the first source said. 

When it’s just the two of them, Swift and Kelce like to work out or watch a movie, which they’re more than happy about. “Just doing nothing at all has been a dream of theirs for a while,” the first source said.

Now that football season’s over and Swift’s done with her record-breaking Eras Tour, the NFL star and Grammy winner are simply enjoying taking it easy. “Obviously, the [tour] threw them into the spotlight,” a fourth source said. “[Now] they’re enjoying some R&R after working their butts off, making the most of their time off.”

“They’re fully living their best lives,” the insider added. Eventually, though, Swift and Kelce’s schedules will become busier. The former is expected to release the highly anticipated re-recording of Reputation at some point this year. At least, so say many Swifties.

Meanwhile, the latter has the 2025-26 football season ahead, which starts with training camp this summer. For now, though, the two are embracing the easy life. “Without the outside noise,” the first source said, “they can focus on each other.”
