Liverpool Need Just 3 Wins From Final 7 Games to Clinch Premier League Title

**Liverpool Still Targeting Alexander Isak Despite Salah Contract Extension**

Mohamed Salah’s recent contract renewal won’t derail Liverpool’s pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, according to Graeme Bailey of TBR Football. In fact, the club is reportedly hoping Salah’s decision to stay will help entice Isak to Anfield.

Isak has long been on Liverpool’s radar, especially during speculation that Salah could leave this summer. But with the Egyptian forward now signed to a new two-year deal, Liverpool’s need for attacking reinforcements is shifting—not disappearing.

**Big Signing Still On the Cards**

With minimal spending in the past two transfer windows, Liverpool have the financial flexibility for a major signing. Isak fits the profile, having been in excellent form for Newcastle—proving himself a top-tier striker throughout the season.

**Salah’s Deal Seen as a Signal**

Liverpool’s leadership sees Salah’s extension as a statement of intent, one they hope will persuade Isak to join. The club is aiming to show it’s committed to staying at the top, with Virgil van Dijk also close to agreeing a new two-year deal.

Back in February, Isak said he was focused on Newcastle’s Carabao Cup campaign and would talk about his future after the season. Ironically, he scored in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Liverpool in the final—further intensifying speculation about a possible move to Merseyside.

**Newcastle Determined to Keep Isak**

The Magpies are intent on keeping the 25-year-old, whose current deal runs until June 2028. They may even need to break their wage ceiling to match or exceed the £150,000-per-week salary of Bruno Guimarães, their current top earner.

**Alexander Isak’s 2024/25 Premier League Stats:**

– **Matches Played:** 27

– **Goals:** 20

– **Expected Goals (xG):** 16.28

– **Scoring Frequency:** Every 110 minutes

– **Goals per Game:** 0.7

– **Conversion Rate:** 27%

– **Duels Won:** 3.1 per game (34%)

With Isak thriving and Liverpool in a strong position both financially and competitively, a summer transfer saga could be on the horizon.
