BREAKING NEWS: Tottenham ‘Hold Talks’ to Re-sign ‘Extraordinary’ Star

Tottenham ‘Hold Talks’ to Re-sign ‘Extraordinary’ Star

Tottenham Hotspur are considering re-signing Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer this summer, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

The Lilywhites have reportedly spoken to the 27-year-old’s representatives and are open to bringing him back almost five years after selling him to Southampton in 2020.

Walker-Peters is believed to be attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs ahead of his contract expiry in June, with West Ham, Fulham and Crystal Palace all monitoring the defender.

He is unlikely to sign an extension with the Saints after their relegation to the Championship and could soon receive multiple offers to continue his career in the top flight.

Tottenham Keen on Kyle Walker-Peters

Among Premier League clubs interested

According to Bailey, Tottenham may need to act quickly if they want to re-sign Walker-Peters after the season, as West Ham have already made a contract offer for the 27-year-old.

The Hammers are now pushing to win the race for the English defender, though they are just one of several clubs keen on his arrival on a free transfer.

Walker-Peters, praised as ‘extraordinary’, has been a regular for Southampton since their Premier League return, missing just two games so far and providing two assists in around 2,500 minutes of action.

The two-cap England international came through Spurs’ academy in 2017 and made 24 first-team appearances before leaving in 2020.

Tottenham are expecting a busy transfer window regarding both incomings and departures, as Timo Werner is set to return to RB Leipzig once his loan deal finishes.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have decided not to exercise the buy option to make the German forward’s move permanent, while the jury is still out on Mathys Tel, who could join for €60m.
