Denton Loudermill Update: Black Man's Life Ruined By GOP Lies

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City man wrongly identified as a shooter at the 2024 Chiefs Super Bowl rally has died.

An attorney for Denton Loudermill confirmed his client’s body was found Friday morning, April 11. The attorney did not release details of Loudermill’s death.

Loudermill previously said he suddenly found himself the target of hate following the deadly Chiefs rally on Feb. 14, 2024.

People, including three Missouri senators, circulated a picture of Loudermill sitting on the ground at the rally with his hands behind him as police stand nearby. Kansas City police confirmed he was not a suspect in the days following the shooting.

The Olathe native eventually sued Sen. Rick Brattin of Harrisonville, Sen. Denny Hoskins of Warrensburg and Sen. Nick Schroer of St. Charles County. The lawsuits claim the three lawmakers falsely said he was in the country illegally at the time of the rally shooting and linked him to the violence.

According to the lawsuits, Loudermill received death threats over the social media post. Loudermill claimed the fallout caused him mental distress and anxiety.

Loudermill’s attorney said he will continue to fight to clear his client’s name, even after his death.

“The family intends to open an estate and the estate will continue the litigation in his name,” Arthur Benson, Loudermill’s attorney, said.
