UPDATE!! Ex-Yankees All-Star Could Land on Dodgers Superteam Through Blockbuster Trade

The New York Yankees let two-time All-Star Gleyber Torres walk in free agency after losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

Torres signed with the Detroit Tigers, while the Dodgers continued to add superstars to their team. Despite all of their stars, the Dodgers could be in the market for a second baseman.

However, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller thinks Torres could be a solution for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers could also target a center fielder, given Tommy Edman’s versatility, but Miller thinks it would make more sense to add a second baseman.

Torres slashed .257/.330/.378 last season for the Yankees. He started this season 3-for-7 before landing on the injured list.

However, he is reportedly nearing a return and has started ramping up his hitting program.

Torres would be able to slot in at second base. That would allow Edman to replace Andy Pages, who has been struggling, in center field. However, it might create problems for Hyeseong Kim.

The Dodgers signed Kim to a three-year, $12.5 million deal out of the Korean Baseball Organization.

He is currently in Triple-A, but he is swinging the bat well.

Whenever the Dodgers are ready to call up Kim, he could serve in a utility role if they trade for Torres. Torres has far more experience in the big leagues and could be the missing piece for back-to-back titles in Los Angeles.

A trade for Torres would likely give the Dodgers an infield of Max Muncy, Mookie Betts, Torres and Freddie Freeman, with Kim as a utilityman. The outfield would feature Teoscar Hernández, Michael Confort and Edman.
