Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors did not play around on Tuesday night in their matchup against the Phoenix Suns. From start to finish, it was clear that the Warriors were the superior team.
After jumping out to a 37-24 lead at the end of the first quarter, Golden State never looked back. The Warriors outscored the Suns 32-19 in the second quarter, 26-18 in the third quarter, and 38-34 in the fourth quarter to cruise to a 133-95 victory.
With the win, Golden State improved to 47-32 on the year. That is good enough to have the team tied with the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies from a record perspective and currently holding the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.
However, the Warriors are just one game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 3 seed and are just half of a game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers, who are in the No. 7 seed.
Golden State has just three games remaining in the season to carve out their postseason path.
Following the blowout win over Phoenix, Curry took some time to speak out about Jimmy Butler. Since the trade for Butler ahead of the deadline, the Warriors have been a top-tier contender in the west.
Curry shared a six-word message about what Butler has brought to Golden State.
“He’s made everyone else’s job easier,” he said.
