The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled for a genuine deep threat ever since Tyreek Hill left for the Miami Dolphins, with the offense not as explosive without the “Cheetah” in its ranks.
But there have been calls for Hill to return to where it all began of late, and now we have former Chiefs Pro Bowl receiver Dwayne Bowe making a Hill recruiting pitch.
Bowe, who played for Kansas City for nine seasons and made the Pro Bowl in 2010 after a 1,162-yard, 15-touchdown year, posted to X wanting Hill to return to the Chiefs.
“Say @cheetah It’s Time 2 Win Again,” Bowe posted.
Hill back with the Chiefs would give the rest of the NFL nightmares, but the move isn’t as simple as some make it out to be.
If Hill was traded before June 1, the Dolphins would have to eat $28 million in dead money per Over The Cap, but if he is a post-June 1 trade, the Dolphins would have just $12.7 million in dead money and get $14 million in cap savings.
Hill has a guaranteed salary of $27.6 million in 2025, which is a big salary to swallow and with the Chiefs already having Marquise Brown, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, and Juju Smith-Schuster on the roster, adding Hill would crowd the receiver room.
So there are ways to do it, but the Chiefs would likely have to part ways with a number of draft picks and be fine with swallowing his guaranteed salary. Plus, in 2026, Hill has a base salary of $29.9 million, but his guaranteed money runs out.
It would be quite an expensive trade for the Chiefs, and this is only hypothetical as the Dolphins would likely have zero interest in trading their best offensive asset.
