New York Yankees superstar slugger Aaron Judge is on a tear early in the 2025 MLB regular season. The reigning American League Most Valuable Player sent another ball deep on Friday, as he helped the Bronx Bombers score a 9-4 victory at PNC Park in Pittsburgh against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Judge went just 1-for-5 and struck out three times in the opener of this interleague series, but he hit a towering home run in the seventh inning on the first pitch he saw from Pirates reliever Tim Mayza.
The 32-year-old Judge made MLB history with that blast, as he became just the first player ever in the big leagues to have at least six home runs and 17 RBIs through the first seven games of a season.

Judge did most of the damage over that stretch in the Yankees’ incredible 20-9 pummeling of the Milwaukee Brewers back in the Bronx on March 29 in which he ripped three home runs to go along with eight RBIs.
On the season, the six-time All-Star is batting .379/.455/1.103 across seven games.
As for the Yankees, they improved to 5-2 with a two-game win streak heading into the second leg of the Pittsburgh series this coming Saturday.
Max Fried got the pitching win on Friday, allowing just an earned run on six hits with a walk issued and six strikeouts through 5.2 innings of work on the mound.
