Shocking Update: LA Dodgers’ $182m man becomes latest high-profile sports superstar to suffer break-in at his mansion

Blake Snell, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ new $182million pitcher, has become the latest high-profile sports star to have his mansion burglarized.

The terrifying break-in occurred the day before MLB’s Opening Day, on which Snell pitched for the Dodgers against the Detroit Tigers.

Nobody was home at the Seattle-area home in Edmonds, but police confirmed the burglary and an ongoing investigation.

In a statement to KING5, a representative for Snell said: ‘I can confirm that our home was recently broken into. Thankfully, no one was harmed. We’re working closely with local authorities and are incredibly grateful for their swift response and ongoing support.’

Snell, 32, agreed to a five-year, $182m contract with the Dodgers when he joined just a month after their World Series win last year, pitching for the first time for his new team this spring.

But what should have been a celebratory week for the two-time Cy Young Award winner turned to a horrifying one when he was notified of the break-in.

Details of the stolen items remain unclear and Snell has been unable to travel back to Seattle, the city where he was born, to assess the damage.

‘We have security footage that is actively assisting in the investigation, and we’re confident the individuals responsible will be caught and removed from our community,’ Snell’s statement continued.

‘If you know something, say something — please contact local law enforcement.’

Police confirmed that they are looking for multiple individuals, but revealed that no arrests have yet been made.

Edmonds Police Commander Josh McClure told media: ‘There’s some indication that there was at least more than one suspect.

‘A burglary had occurred, a broken-out window… glass had been kind of strewn through the house. But with the main victim not home and able to account for specific items, other family members weren’t exactly sure, so we’re still working through that.’

Both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their Kansas City mansions burglarized last October, and in the months since the likes of Joe Burrow, Carson Beck, Olivier Giroud, Luka Doncic, Ja Morant and others have all suffered break-ins.
