For years, the Kansas City Chiefs have been the team to beat in the NFL.
As such, everybody has been eager to watch their downfall.
Year in and year out, their detractors have predicted the beginning of the end for them.
More often than not, they’ve been wrong.
However, after watching them crumble in the Super Bowl, this might be when it finally happens.
At least, that’s how Colin Cowherd feels.
Talking on Fox’s “The Herd,” he predicted that the Chiefs would take a big step back and win less than 11 games next season.
He recalled that they were 11-0 in one-score games last season, and he doesn’t think that’s sustainable.
Cowherd argued that they were getting old in key spots, not to mention the fact that they were still trying to figure themselves out on offense.
To add insult to injury, they lost Joe Thuney, their best offensive lineman.
Cowherd claimed that they are one offensive line injury away from being a complete mess.
That makes sense, especially considering how much the offense regressed under Matt Nagy.
Then again, as much as some teams might finally stop fearing the Chiefs and playing them like they can be beaten, it has rarely paid off to bet against them.
They still have one of the greatest head coaches of all time, one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever live, and an absolute juggernaut of a defense.
Things don’t look that promising on paper, but we’ve seen them bounce back from tough Super Bowl losses in the past.
