Taylor Swift broke her social media hiatus on Saturday for good reason. This was to help promote Selena Gomez’s new album with her fiance Benny Blanco, “I Said I Love You First.” Swift revealed via Instagram how she loves the new album “so much.”
Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, also showed signs of life on social media on Saturday amid his lack of activity on Instagram of late.
Kelce’s reason for making his return to the platform, though, was for a very different reason as he shared his sad reaction to the death of his brother Jason Kelce’s 7-year-old pet dog. Swift and Kelce clearly had very different reasons for their rather unusual moves on social media.
For her part, the “Eras Tour” headliner was just happy to support one of her best friends with her new album.
This is exactly why fans were not happy after new allegations surrounding Swift and Gomez suddenly came out of nowhere.
A Reddit post is currently trending on the social news aggregation website, in which Gomez is accused of having “ignored” Swift on multiple occasions.
“Fans are upset that Selena Gomez ignored Taylor Swift’s birthday and ignored Taylor’s blessing on her engagement and didn’t attend her Eras tour and did not support her album,” read the post. “
At the same time she supported Ariana Grande’s album and also attended Sabrina Carpenter’s tour!” View the original article to see embedded media.
Swift and Gomez go way back and have built quite a strong friendship through the years. Fans of the two pop superstars know this well, which is why they were angered by this latest rumor.
“Why do they want her to have beef with Taylor?
Why are they lying though she did attend to one of the concerts with her sister, she’s not obligated to go to every single one of her concerts like her other friends did.
Has Taylor gone to Selena’s tour? They just want drama between them for no reason,” a comment on Reddit read. “lol Taylor posted on her story about Selena and Benny’s new song hours ago wtf are they talking about?” asked a fan.
“Pretty sure that Selena attended one of the LA concerts at least? Why are they making up drama when there is none?
She probably wished Taylor happy birthday by private message and Taylor did the same for her engagement, not every communication needs to be by public instagram post,” declared another.

“What? These two are/were close friends…they have each other’s numbers…how does some internet random know if one ‘ignored’ the other?” asked another. “Are these people omniscient? They have no idea whether Gomez ignored Swift’s birthday.
There’s life beyond social media,” a reaction read. Based on the strong reactions above, it is clear that both Swifties and Selenators aren’t at all pleased by this latest accusation.
To them, this is nothing more than a baseless attempt to create drama between two best friends.
