The Kansas City Chiefs fell short in their quest for a Super Bowl “three-peat” in February, but may end up making a visit to the White House after President Donald Trump’s rumored invitation to celebrate Super Bowl LIV.
A tough lopsided loss marked the end of an incredible three-year campaign for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Andy Reid’s team won two Super Bowls and three AFC Championships, needing a win in Super Bowl LIX to do something that no other team in NFL history had done.
That conquest of course, fell short with the Chiefs suffering a 40-22 beating at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite the roster losses in the offseason, the Chiefs should remain in position to contend for a championship yet again. Kansas City also has the coach/quarterback tandem of Reid and Patrick Mahomes working together.
However, contenders including the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens are on the rise, so getting back to the summit will be no easy feat. Before Kansas City returns to the grind, they could be in store for a special moment of reflection.
The Eagles are set to make their visit to the White House as per tradition with Super Bowl champions, but in a conversation with Outkick’s Clay Travis, President Donald Trump revealed his interest in bringing the Chiefs to the nation’s capital to commemorate their victory in Super Bowl LIV.
“I look forward to having the Eagles, and one other thing, we’re going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that because they missed their turn because of COVID,” Trump said.
The COVID-19 pandemic shut down all public activity essentially a month after that game, so the Chiefs never made their visit that season.
While Trump never hosted the Chiefs during his first term, the Chiefs visited President Joe Biden twice following their back-to-back Super Bowls in 2023 and 2024.
Now this is a respectable gesture from the president, but would the Chiefs be interested in celebrating that accolade just yet?

Chiefs Newly-Signed Running Back Admits To ‘Challenges’
The White House visit is not something new for the franchise. Coming off a loss that will drive the team’s motivation for next season, such an appearance could feel awkward for some involved.
A few players and coaches remain from that 2019 run, meaning there is a strong possibility for some mixed feelings there.
No official invitation has been given out or accepted as it pertains to a potential Chiefs’ visit, but this will be an interesting decision for Kansas City.
