The Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receivers room underwent numerous changes last season due to injuries to essential veteran players. Going into the offseason, the goal was to fortify the position with a healthy and focused group to complement quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Chiefs veteran receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown is returning to Kansas City on a one-year deal and has high expectations for his position group. The expected return of Rashee Rice and an even more motivated Xavier Worthy have the former 2019 first-round draft pick excited about the potential, as he spoke with reporters via Zoom on Thursday.
“Those are my guys; the sky’s the limit; we talk all the time about history and the team we’re on,” said Brown. “The team, history, our history as a group, our history as individual players. That stuff we speak on, we’re striving for through the offseason. Through our training, we’re trying to push each other to be the best because ultimately, I feel like we could do something that’s never been done before.”
Brown missed most of the 2024 season due to shoulder surgery after a preseason injury, while Rice also missed significant time after an early season knee injury. The return of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Worthy going into his second season are all optimistic signs for the group looking ahead to a productive 2025 season.
He finished the regular season with nine catches for 91 yards, averaging 10.1 yards per reception.
