The wide receiver failed to live up to expectations, but barely got targeted by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.

It ended with a heartbreakingly loss in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles in February.

The Chiefs were destroyed 40-22 at the Caesars Superdome down in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 32-year-old only spent a few months with the team after joining from the Tennessee Titans last October.

He linked up with the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens earlier this month after hitting free agency.

But Hopkins has made it clear he holds no grudges towards Mahomes, Reid and Co after his disappointing spell at the Chiefs.

“I have definitely been in situations the past couple of years,” he told reporters last week.

“I have only gotten a couple of targets, so for me, it has never really bothered me.

“I embrace it.

“You got to realize and understand this is a business and that is how it goes.”

The Chiefs gave the Titans a fifth-round NFL Draft pick for Hopkins in their trade.

It would have become a fourth-rounder if the Chiefs reached the Super Bowl and he played 60 per cent of their snaps.

However, Hopkins was used for less than half of them.

Now he is looking to help Jackson win his first Super Bowl with the Ravens.

“I think Lamar being the leader of this team is part of the reason that I came here,” he added.

“What he stands for and how he led this team and this organization to the playoffs in multiple years.

“And since he has been here just how he has led any receiver group he has had.

“I think that played a big part in me coming here for sure.

“Lamar being the quarterback.”

Hopkins started five of his ten regular season appearances for the Chiefs.

He caught 41 passes from Mahomes’ 59 targets, with 437 yards and four touchdowns.

The wide-out was targeted just eight times for three receptions, 29 yards and one touchdown in the post-season.
