Taylor Swift may have just dropped a serious hint that reputation (Taylor’s Version) will be her next re-recorded album. Swift has been on a two-rerecordings every-other-year schedule since 2021, when she released her first rerecorded album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version). She also released two albums in between, Midnights in 2022 and The Tortured Poets Department in 2024.
However, fans have been most excited about reputation (Taylor’s Version), so much so that they have often read too much into Swift’s actions. This was especially the case on the final leg of The Eras Tour, when Swifties practically dissected all of Swift’s actions to see if she would at least announce the upcoming rerecording during her tour. This time, however, Swift’s latest appearance may have been a legitimate hint.
Swift Wore A Snake Necklace During The I Heart Radio Awards
During the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Taylor Swift was honored with the Tour of the Century award for The Eras Tour. While Swift didn’t attend the award show, she sent in an acceptance video which the show aired after announcing her win. Nothing is ever a coincidence with Taylor Swift, so it was likely no mistake that she was wearing a snake necklace in her acceptance video.
While Swifties often go to extremes to prove that Swift’s actions are Easter eggs pointing to future projects, Swift typically makes her Easter eggs a little more on the nose. For example, Swift hinted that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was on its way by pressing the purple elevator button in the “Bejeweled” music video. Later, she’d hint towards 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at the end of the “I Can See You” music video. Swift jumped into a white van before the car took off in the direction of a sign that read “1989 TV.”
Aside from the snake necklace, the pop star also wore a black shirt, which is the official color of the reputation era. This wouldn’t be the first time the pop star gave a clear hint reputation (Taylor’s Version) is on its way. Swift hinted at reputation during the final Eras Tour show by singing a mashup of “Long Live” and “New Year’s Day,” which she previously sang on the Reputation Tour.
Where Have Swifties Seen That Necklace Before?
Swift’s Necklace Resembled Something She’s Worn In The Past
While the snake was the official symbol of the reputation album and era, there’s something especially familiar about the necklace Swift wore in her acceptance video. The necklace is a very similar style to the snake necklace that Swift wore in her 2017 “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. The necklace seems to clip at the front with the snake head as the clip, which is just like the one she wore in the music video.
“Look What You Made Me Do” was the first single off of reputation and the one to kickstart the era. The music video was a massive deal, as she used it to clap back at all the criticism she’d received in the last few years. While Swifties have read into Taylor Swift’s actions and created many out there theories regarding reputation, this Easter egg actually feels intentional.
