The transfer valuation for Alejandro Garnacho has emerged after Manchester United fans voiced frustration over his performance in their recent 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
Garnacho, who joined United from Atletico Madrid at 16 in 2020, was one of the last players to make the move from the EU to England before Brexit imposed tighter restrictions on young international recruits. He signed his first professional contract in 2021 and has since made his mark in the first team, where he has been a regular for over two years after being promoted by manager Erik ten Hag.
Last season, Garnacho showcased his potential, netting seven Premier League goals, including a memorable bicycle kick against Everton in November. However, this season has posed more challenges for the 20-year-old, and some fans expressed dissatisfaction with his recent performance against Chelsea.
In the wake of this criticism, a few fans even suggested United should consider selling the promising winger, although he remains one of the club’s brightest young prospects.
If United were to consider parting ways with Garnacho, reports from The Sun last month indicate the club would not feel compelled to sell, as he recently signed a five-year deal in April. It’s said United might entertain offers around £50 million, following interest from Barcelona and Juventus last summer. However, with incoming manager Ruben Amorim stepping in, Garnacho’s value may be reassessed.
Amorim is set to officially take charge of United on November 11, succeeding interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Van Nistelrooy led the team in both the Chelsea game and Wednesday’s 5-2 Carabao Cup victory over Leicester. He will also manage United’s Europa League clash with PAOK and a home Premier League game against Leicester before Amorim’s debut on November 24, when United faces Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
