Kansas City Chiefs Reportedly Sign Super Bowl Hero Wide Receiver In A Move That Should Make Patrick Mahomes Happy -binh123Kansas City Chiefs helmet (Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images)According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Kansas City Chiefs are keeping a familiar face around Arrowhead Stadium as the club has re-signed veteran wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to a one-year deal.Smith-Schuster is in the midst of his second stint with the Chiefs, as he initially signed with the club as a free agent in March 2022.

It was previously reported that the ninth-year wideout — who is just 28 — had interest from other teams, but wanted to remain with the Chiefs.

Kansas City first wanted to sign the former USC wide receiver in 2021, but he wanted to remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The following offseason, Kansas City signed him to a one-year, $10.75 million “prove-it” contract, and he did just that as he led the Chiefs’ wide receivers with 933 yards and three touchdowns on the way to the team’s victory in Super Bowl LVII.

After his rove-it year, JuJu Smith-Schuster would take his talents to New England, where he signed a three-year, $33 million contract. That was never a place for him there, as he only recorded 29 catches for 260 yards over 11 games in 2023.

Celtics Lab NBA Basketball PodcastDissecting the impact of the Timelord and Richardson extensionsThe Boston Celtics started their offseason with a bang, making major moves to create cap flexibility and seeming to signal they were all in on pursuing a max deal star in free agency perhaps as soon as the 2022 NBA offseason. Until it became clear they were not. Now, more recently, the Celtics have been handing out contract extensions to the players on their rosters like candy on Halloween, with veteran guard Marcus Smart, rising big man Robert Williams III and recently acquired wing Josh Richardson all getting additional years — four apiece in the case of Smart and Timelord — added to their contracts. What might be the plan here? How does it impact what we already know about the team? How do we feel about the moves? Join your usual hosts Alex Goldberg, Cameron Tabatabaie and Justin Quinn as they dive into these important questions and the news of the week on this episode of the Celtics Lab, including Kevin Garnett’s jersey retirement news and the release of the full 2021-22 schedule. Celtics Lab NBA Basketball PodcastSorting out Game 3 of the Celtics’ 2022 NBA Finals with Ky CarlinThe Boston Celtics fell victim to their worst tendencies in their Game 2 matchup with the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals, and against the Dubs, careless turnovers and passive possessions rarely if ever end well for the opposing teams. The Celtics found out why on their way to a 107-88 loss and a 1-1 series tie on Sunday evening but now head back to TD Garden for a Game 3 contest on their own home court. What went wrong in Game 2 for the Celtics? How big of a role did refs play in the loss, if any? We of course dig into the impact (and treatment) of Draymond Green and spend plenty of airtime on what’s to come for Boston in Game 3. What adjustments can we expect? Is this the last we see of Daniel Theis this season? How often will there be double-big lineups, and how to avoid turning the ball over? In this episode of the Celtics Lab podcast, we link up with Sixers Wire editor Ky Carlin for an unbiased look at the Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. Celtics Lab NBA Basketball PodcastKeeping up with the Horfords: Talking the offseason, basketball abroad and more with Anna HorfordWhile the dog days of summer are upon us, it might seem as if the wider NBA world is in something of a slumber. But the league has been hard at work promoting its brand abroad, while players like Boston Celtics star forwards Al Horford and Danilo Gallinari have been getting ready to represent their respective national teams. Players have also been finding an offseason groove that suits what they need to focus on, whether that means family time or time abroad playing with FIBA. To talk about what’s been going on with her family since the Finals, NBA investment in Latin American basketball, and other goings-on in her orbit, we brought on friend of the pod Anna Horford to share her perspective. We talk about her brother Jon’s recent run for office, Dominican basketball (and other) culture, and some potential projects coming down the pike with the Horford family. Celtics Lab NBA Basketball PodcastChecking in on Boston trade chatter ahead of the deadline with Jared WeissThe Boston Celtics have been putting in the work behind the scenes all season on ways they can improve the team via trade and with the 2023 NBA trade deadline less than two weeks away, more rumbles about what they might be looking to accomplish before the end of the day on Feb. 9. While it seems unlikely that the Celtics will be making any blockbuster moves, there’s been chatter that the front office is looking for additional depth on the wing and in the frontcourt. With both the team’s starting big men and star wings having played heavy minutes through the first half of the season, finding some players who can at least play some significant regular season minutes if not a postseason role as well. To get to the bottom of what NBA insiders are hearing about what the Celtics hope to do this offseason, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast linked up with The Athletic’s Jared Weiss to talk all things 2023 NBA trade deadline. We also get caught up on Boston’s play of late, some recent injuries to key players, and other issues of note. The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for the 2025 season.

The 28-year-old spent the 2024 season with the Chiefs. He poured in 18 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns.

Smith-Schuster played five years in Pittsburgh, and although he loved the team and city, he is quickly relizing that catching passes from Patrick Mahomes puts him in a better position to stay in the league and play for a Super Bowl.
