The Kansas City Chiefs will be facing the arch-rival Las Vegas Raiders this weekend.
However, according to the team’s official site, they will be taking the field without veteran defensive lineman Mike Danna and former Pro Bowl wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Danna is currently dealing with a pectoral injury and Smith-Schuster is dealing with a hamstring issue.
The Chiefs were dealing with a multitude of injuries this week.
Running back Kareem Hunt (hip), linebacker Leo Chenal (shoulder), wide receiver Mecole Hardman (knee), and safety Justin Reid (hand) all appeared on the injury report at some point during the week.
All are playing on Sunday.
With Smith-Schuster being out, it will be interesting to see how many snaps five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins gets in his first game as a Chief.
Kansas City hasn’t exactly been firing on all cylinders despite being unbeaten.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this season.
All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce hasn’t posted the elite numbers that he is used to posting.
The rest of the offense has seemingly been ravaged by injuries, especially in the running back room and the wide receiver room.
Defensively, Chris Jones and Co. have been the backbone of the team as the offense continues to find its way.
With the Raiders struggling to find their way as an organization over the last few seasons, it could be an uphill battle against the Chiefs regardless of the injuries that the Chiefs have sustained so far this year.
