On his long-awaited return to the court, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry had a simple but powerful message for teammate Jonathan Kuminga.
After missing 31 consecutive games due to a lingering ankle injury, Kuminga made his comeback in the Warriors’ dominant 130-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Following the game, Curry took to Instagram to share his excitement, posting a photo of him and Kuminga in action.
“Welcome back, Jonathan Kuminga,” Curry captioned.
Kuminga’s return was a much-needed boost for the Warriors, who have been on a roll since acquiring Jimmy Butler in a midseason trade. The forward wasted no time making an impact, scoring 18 points, three rebounds and an assist.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr emphasized that the team took a cautious approach to Kuminga’s rehab, ensuring he was fully ready before stepping back onto the court.
“We were never going to rush him,” Kerr said, as shared by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater on X. “He got in four or five scrimmages over the last couple of weeks and his last two were noticeably better. He looked like he had that pop back.”
Kerr praised Kuminga’s ability to provide a different dynamic to the Warriors’ offense, saying, “What you notice is the different dimension he gives us with his explosion.”
With 16 games remaining in the regular season, the Warriors are looking to solidify their lineup and push for a top-six playoff seed. Kuminga’s return, along with Curry’s steady leadership, has them in prime position to make a strong postseason run.
