The newest members of the Chiefs have all officially landed in Kansas City and inked their contracts with the team. Each LT Jaylon Moore, RB Elijah Mitchell, and CB Kristian Fulton officially put pen to paper, marking the start of their journey with the Chiefs Kingdom.
Fulton, the Chiefs’ newest cornerback by way of AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers, has already been blown away by fan response. He sent a message on X at 2:14 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 13.
Within minutes of sending his first message, he sent a follow-up after the Chiefs Kingdom gave him the warmest of welcomes to his new team. He was clearly a bit taken aback by the fan response.
“The love and support from the fans has been CRAZY! Can’t wait to give Chiefs Kingdom my best ball yet,” Fulton wrote.
That’s quite the bar-raising statement from Fulton, who has played some great football to this point of his NFL career. He has 51 starts across two teams over five seasons in the league, recording 201 combined tackles, nine tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, five interceptions, and 32 passes defended.
At the same time, the 26-year-old former 2020 second-round draft pick is entering what should be the prime of his career. Should he stay focused and motivated in Kansas City, there’s no reason why he can’t play the best ball of his career for the Chiefs. In fact, I’d wager to say that he’s about to play the best and most meaningful football he’s played since he was part of the LSU National Championship team in 2019.
