Steph Curry's Statement on Making NBA History in Warriors-Kings

On a night where Stephen Curry made history, the Golden State Warriors handled business in blowout fashion over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. The Warriors took the lead in the opening 30 seconds with a Draymond Green 3-pointer and never looked back, surging past the Kings for a wire-to-wire blowout win, 130-104.

In the third quarter, Curry rewrote the NBA history books with a 3-pointer. Following his second made triple of the game, Curry became the first player in NBA history to make 4,000 career 3-pointers. Curry, the NBA’s all-time leader in made 3-pointers, finished the game with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field and 2-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc to go along with five assists and two rebounds in 30 minutes.

Thursday nigh also marked the long-awaited return of Jonathan Kuminga. Kuminga has missed time since early January due to an ankle injury. The fourth-year wing picked up right where he left off, scoring 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field with three rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.

Draymond Green led the Warriors on Thursday with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field with four made 3-pointers. Green added four assists, four rebounds, a block. and a steal in 29 minutes against the Kings.

Moses Moody was one of eight Warriors to score in double-figures with 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field with four made 3-pointers. Buddy Hield, Gary Payton II and Quinten Post all added double-figure scoring numbers on Thursday night.

Riding a season-best six-game win streak, the Warriors will welcome the Knicks to Chase Center on Saturday for a primetime matchup in San Francisco.
