SOUL BEAUTY: Shohei Ohtani’s Wife Mamiko Tanaka Gifts Dodgers Wives Fun Goodie Bags For Tokyo Trip

Dodgers pitcher Shohei Ohtani walks red carpet with wife Mamiko Tanaka 2024 MLB All-Star game

Shohei Ohtani’s wife, Mamiko Tanaka, has thus far not sought the spotlight at all since it was revealed that she had married the Los Angeles Dodgers star last spring. However, she has apparently been involved with the wives of other Dodgers players as she gifted them all goodie bags for their upcoming trip to Tokyo, Japan.

Ohtani and Tanaka, as most everyone is well aware of by now, call Japan home.

So, since the Dodgers will be beginning the 2025 Major League Baseball season there and she reportedly won’t be able to attend the games, she the left care packages for the other wives as a way to welcome them to her country.

Nicole Barnes, wife of Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes, shared photos on social media of the gift bag given to her by Mamiko Tanaka. “How cute is this welcome on the plane? 🥲” Barnes wrote alongside photos of the goodie bag.

Among the items Mamiko Tanaka left for the other ladies on the plane were several Hello Kitty products, a blue bag with a Dodgers logo over a cherry blossom pedal and a “TOKYO, JAPAN ’25” stitched below the team logo, and a note wishing them a safe and fun trip to her homeland.

“I wish I could be joining you on this incredible journey to Japan,” she wrote. “Take lots of pictures, make unforgettable memories, and enjoy every minute of your adventure! Safe travels and have the best time ever! We’ll be cheering for the Dodgers from Los Angeles! Warmly, Mamiko & Decoy.”

Of course, Shohei Ohtani’s dog Decoy helped pick out the gifts.

No reason has been given as to why Tanaka isn’t making the trip back home for the Dodgers games in Japan versus the Chicago Cubs, but the fact that Shohei Ohtani announced in December that she is expecting the couple’s first child may have something to do with it.
