Travis Kelce sang his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s hit song “22” while giving parenting advice during the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
During the podcast’s bonus episode of Thursday, March 13, via Wondery+, Travis, 35, and his brother, Jason Kelce, took questions from fans about parenting. ”
Hello, so I’m a 22 year old female and I have a 5-year-old daughter,” one caller began, which led Travis to reply, “Feeling 22.”
After Travis, 35, made the nod to the song featured on Taylor’s Red album, the brothers listened to the caller explain that her daughter “keeps telling people in Walmart or anywhere we go that I stole her.” The mother added that the police and child protective services have been called in light of the prank. “I was wondering how I could change my parenting style to fix this? It’s gotten seriously bad …
I’ve gotten a lot of calls about it,” she continued. Before Travis or Jason, 37, were able to share advice, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end asked, “Why did she call ‘New Heights’ about [this]?” Meanwhile, Jason predicted that the child was pulling the prank to “get a rise” out of her parents.
The retired athlete – who is currently expecting baby No. 4 with wife Kylie Kelce – then suggested that she use “a little reverse psychology” to fix the problem.
Not only did Jason weigh in on the matter, but the brothers also called their father, Ed Kelce, to share his own advice.
“What would my reaction be? Shut the f–k up,” Ed said after he was told the scenario, which caused Jason and Travis to laugh out loud. “Get your little ass home you’ll be begging to be f–king stolen.”
Ed then encouraged the young mother to “find out who called the police and sue that motherf–ker.” Jason admitted he was surprised by his father’s advice, stating, “We thought you would go Ed Kelce reverse psychology on them.
Whenever we would threaten to call the police, you used to say, ‘Well, here’s the phone. Go ahead.'” Jason and Travis shared parenting advice amid the tight end’s romance with Taylor, 35.
The couple first began dating in the summer of 2023, though they haven’t shared their plans when it comes to having children of their own.
However, Travis has hinted about wanting kids in the past. During a 2024 episode of his game show, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, guest Ryan Fitzpatrick told Travis that fatherhood made him “wiser.”
“Is that what happens when you have kids? You get smarter?” Travis asked Ryan, 42. “Man, that’s all I had to do to become brilliant?” Ryan then told him to “just have a baby,” which made the crowd burst into cheers.
Additionally, Travis hinted that he “can’t wait” to have kids of his own during a March 2024 episode of “New Heights.” One month later, an insider exclusively told Life & Style that Travis would like to start a family with Taylor in the near future.
“Travis is eager to speed up their relationship timeline,” the source revealed in April 2024. “
He wants to marry Taylor right away and start a family as soon as she’s ready. Travis has been so broody that he’s told Taylor he’s open to having kids before a wedding!”
